An opportunity has arisen within The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pain Management in the development of a world class pain service at one of the leading specialist hospitals in the United Kingdom. The Pain Management Service will be integral to patient recovery, functioning as a key element of perioperative care, non-surgical treatment pathways, and complex rehabilitation.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of pain care in one of the UK's foremost specialist orthopaedic hospitals. The successful applicant will collaboratively be working closely with expert pain nurses, specialist physiotherapists, a clinical psychologist, and surgical teams across the Trust. The role focuses on the development of patient-centred pathways, interventional pain procedures, and embedding a biopsychosocial model in musculoskeletal and post-surgical pain management.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible to deliver specialist nursing care and provide highly specialist advice and support within the pain service MDT and to organisation colleagues.
To ensure delivery of their autonomous practice in the specialist area, with a high level of experience, highly advanced clinical skills and a broad in-depth theoretical knowledge base.
To evaluate and triage referrals into the pain service and act within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient with pain from the initial appointment which will include: history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation and discharge of their care.
Demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making, providing expert care for patients with highly complex pain problems and often complex health and social care needs in a variety of settings.
Lead and take responsibility for the nursing component of the pain service and work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary pain management team to meet the needs of patients using an integrated care model and supporting the delivery of policy and procedures
Provide leadership and supervision to delegated team members, whilst providing expert knowledge to healthcare professionals within RJAH and supporting patients and families.
