Job summary
Please note: This is a full time post, however, a minimum of 30 hours per week would be considered.The Dept. of Orthotics is looking for an Orthotic assistant to join the large Orthotics team at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry.
The role is both clinical and clerical, working as part of a team and individually depending on the task.
The main aspect of the role is supporting the Orthotists providing clinical treatment to patients, whether this is face to face assisting in clinic appointments, telephone calls to patients or prep work for clinics.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve clinical and non-clinical work. The clinical aspect will be assisting Orthotists when they are treating patients and will include manual handling tasks along with patient preparation. It will also include prepping equipment ready for appointments and cleaning down after use.
The non-clinical roles will include a variety of different tasks including order processing, arranging meetings, stock management, collating reports and general IT work. It will also involve a large number of review telephone calls to patients 6 weeks after supply of their orthoses.
