Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing a high quality and pro-active People Service. Part of your remit will involve developing and maintaining regular contact with line managers to build strong and influential working relationships, sufficient to support and advise on all aspects of Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures.

This role will be key to supporting and coaching manager to undertake people management activities as well as provide a structured case management service. These may involve, but not limited to sickness absence management, flexible working, capability, disciplinary, grievance, openness (whistle blowing), and harassment/bullying issues.

The post holder will have opportunity to be involved in many People Services related aspects such as supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion objectives, participating in recruitment drives, as well as supporting employee wellbeing objectives . This a varied and dynamic role that will suit someone wishing to undertake a generalist role in an ambitious team.

Essential

  • Working towards Associate CIPD qualification with evidence of on-going Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experienc

Desirable

  • Level 5 CIPD qualified
  • Post graduate level of study
  • Coaching qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience sufficient to provide advice and support to managers and staff on all aspects of the role without day-to-day supervision or direction
  • Experience of advising managers through investigations
  • Experience of advising managers on how to handle contentious and sensitive employee relations issues including writing management statements of case
  • Experience of coordinating multiple workplace activities (such as ER case work for example)
  • Experience of working successfully in a busy organisation
