Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two newly qualified Physician Associates to join the Arthroplasty team at RJAH. The preceptorship is a mid-point band 6 role due to the development / support given within the first 12 months. After the 12 months, the expectation is you will move to a band 7. The role will include designated consultant supervision with broad access to the Arthroplasty service as well as access to theatres to improve surgical skills. You will have close contact with a PA mentor and protected teaching time every week. With regards to study leave, this will be funded to allow acquisition of CPD. Plenty of opportunities will be provided to become involved in research, audits and QIP as well as developing the role to suit personal interests to become part of the Arthroplasty team with increasing levels of responsibility as you progress.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
- To be an integral part of our Arthroplasty team and provide expert assistance to consultants and associated clinicians to help deliver high standards of care.
- Provide care with high level of clinical skills and knowledge from history taking and clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, including assessment and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
