Rotational Physiotherapist

We are seeking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapists to join our multi-disciplinary team, based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt (RJAH) NHS Orthopaedic Hospital. Due to the success of our current band 5 physiotherapists in finding band 6 positions in this Trust and elsewhere in the NHS, we now have further band 5 therapy posts to advertise.
Main duties of the job
Rotational Physiotherapist
The hospital is a leading orthopaedic centre of excellence, so we are looking to you to provide a high quality physiotherapy service by providing holistic assessment, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of patients who may have complex or chronic presentations.
The specialties covered within the rotations at RJAH include: Orthopaedics, General Medicine, MSK Out-Patients, Paediatrics and the Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries.
The post may also include rotations within the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care System (STWICS), which will add variety to your rotations and ensure a well-rounded junior experience.The service provides an on call service overnight and out of hours service at weekends, which successful candidates would be expected to participate in.
The Therapy department is working towards delivering a 7 day Therapy service for patients across all inpatient services. Currently full 7 day services are only active on the inpatient Orthopaedic rotations. As future areas move to 7 day working this post will be included within the consultation for staff.
You will hold HCPC Registration, have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy, and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

JOB PURPOSE
- To participate in the development and organisation of the efficient and effective provision of the physiotherapy service
- This post will provide physiotherapy throughout the specialties within the Trust. Specialties include General Medicine, T&O, Outpatients, Paediatrics, Spinal Injuries and Rheumatology.
- The post may also involve rotational opportunities across our partnership trusts within the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System (ICS). This includes: The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust; Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust; Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions and subsequently plan and deliver high quality individualised treatment programmes
- To hold responsibility for own caseload as an autonomous practitioner, working without direct supervision. (Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, or case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.)
- Be involved in audits, surveys and evidence-based projects to further own and teams clinical practice during the rotations as required. To make recommendations to the clinical leader of service and be involved in the implementation of any associated changes to practice by the team.
- To participate in the on-call service during the evenings and the out of hours service at weekends.
