Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 8a Lead Superintendent Radiographer to join our Radiology Centre leadership team at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.
The post holder will work with the cross site team but is primarily responsible for the leadership of the large multidisciplinary team at the Royal Shrewsbury site. This is a diverse role actively managing multiple modalities including DXR, CT, MRI, NM and interventional lab. Effective communication skills are a necessity with the post holder being required to process complex information and support the development of the service to meet the ever changing needs of our patient and key stakeholders.
The post holder is accountable for service delivery, liaising with service users and other agencies as appropriate in addition to the management of complex imaging equipment to ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR17) and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IRMER).
Main duties of the job
They will have a delegated budgetary responsibility ensuring a cost effective approach is adopted.
The post holder will provide expert knowledge and leadership for all modalities within the team and for the development of strategies to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
