Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pre Operative Assessment unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital & The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford for a Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Nursing team.

We are seeking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant who has a cheerful and friendly disposition to work full time. You must be enthusiastic, reliable, highly motivated with excellent communication skills and enjoy working within a busy team. Venepuncture competency would be advantageous and good IT skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the qualified nurses pre-operatively assessing patients prior to their surgery. This includes completing documentation, general observations, taking ECGs and venepuncture.

About us

The Pre Op Assessment staff are a friendly and supportive team and support will be given to the successful candidate in terms of any required training.

The department is currently open 5 days a week and informal visits are welcome.
