Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Housekeeper, on a part-time basis to join our friendly Therapy Outpatient team at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The role will provide non-clinical support within the department.
The essence of the role is to assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment for patients and staff ensuring compliance with infection control procedures. The post holder will also be responsible for stock taking and ensuring that stocks and supplies are kept at adequate levels within the department using the Oracle system for any reordering, for this reason IT literacy with knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel is strongly desired.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in the smooth running of the Therapies department by promoting a clean and safe environment and providing non-clinical support to the team. Where required this may include more administrative duties such as photocopying and filing.
The post holder will take a shared responsibility for ensuring adequate stock of consumables are maintained to meet service requirements and that all equipment within the department are clean and in good working order.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

- Previous experience in service industry.
- Previous experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment.
- IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a healthcare setting
- Experience of working in NHS
- Experience of stock control.
- To have a basic knowledge of a hospital environment and infection control.
