Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking, and self-motivated Band 6 Dermatology Nurse or a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist who wants to come and join our friendly supportive Dermatology Team?
This is an exciting opportunity to be in a leading role delivering high quality care and providing support to skin cancer patients and their families and helping to develop- and expand our skin cancer services.
The successful candidate will be developed to obtain skills to enable them to manage and maintain a case load of skin cancer patients, undertaking nurse-led clinics and performing diagnostic skin surgical procedures supported by the Skin cancer Specialist Nurse.
This is a 12 month fixed term post, 32 hours a week.
Main duties of the job
Promote expert practice, facilitating the development of clinician's skills by acting as a role model, mentor and supervisor to provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence regarding common inflammatory skin diseases (e.g. acne, eczema, psoriasis) in the clinical setting and will work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive service including expert care that the patients, relatives and staff can rely on for support and advice.

Essential
- NMC registered
- Education and/or experience at Masters level (or willingness to work towards)
- Evidence of advanced communication skills training or willingness to do so
- Leadership course or willingness to complete
- ENB 998 ((Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice) / City and Guilds 730(7) Cert Ed)
Experience and knowledge
Essential
- Experience in a nursing leadership role
- Extensive post registration experience within the NHS
- Significant proven experience at Band 6 within Dermatology
- Experience of communicating with multi-professionals at all levels on subjects that may be sensitive or contentious
- Knowledge and understanding of nursing / clinical audit
- Knowledge of corporate and clinical governance

- Evidence of implementing research based practice
