Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Receivable Finance Apprentice to join our friendly and supportive team here at Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust.

We are inviting applications from candidates with 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 (or equivalent) including Maths & English. You will have excellent keyboard and computer skills, good written, verbal and interpersonal skills with experience gained in a busy office, customer based environment or volunteer role.

The Accounts Receivable Finance Apprentice will be the given the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team and will be supported to successfully complete a level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship to include an Association of Accounting Technicians qualification.

Main duties of the job

Develop the required skills, knowledge and behaviours with training, support and the necessary supervision and guidance to fulfil the requirements of the role.

The raising of invoices and credit notes in respect of income due to the Trust in line with departmental policies and procedures.

Dealing with subsequent enquiries from debtors arising from the above and seeking to resolve them satisfactorily.

The Accounts Receivable team is part of a wider Financial Accounts team and includes Capital and Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Systems Administration and Charitable Funds.

We often have to work to tight deadlines especially at month-end and year-end. We promote a friendly and approachable team atmosphere to ensure everyone is able to hit their targets and deliver the service we all want to provide.
