Overview
To act as the Trust's cardiorespiratory physiologist Lead. Providing Scientific and Technical leadership to the Cardiorespiratory service. Taking responsibility as the line manager for the Clinical Service Leads and resources of the Cardiorespiratory service
To ensure the effective delivery of the services, striving for Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) and British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) registration.
Accountable for ensuring the cohesive evolution of the Cardiorespiratory services across all services, maintaining a work force vision and plan and grow investment in services . Maintaining the delivery of a high standard Cardiorespiratory service to the Trust and other parties
Main duties of the job
- Provision of professional advice relating to the Cardiorespiratory Service.
- Investigation of Adverse incidents relating to the service.
- Assisting in equipment selection and procurement.
- Working with procurement in the setting up of tenders for high cost equipment.
- Responsible for the attaining the Trusts commitments to the CIED Tender
- Responsible for CIED MRHA Field Safety Notices and the actioning of recommendations for the safety of the patient cohort
- Work within the Trusts financial standing instructions.
- Champion the development and delivery of physiology led services across, echocardiography, respiratory and cardiac devices.
- Contribute to forums within the Trust as a professional advisor and management representative.
- Contribute outside the Trust as the Trusts representative for cardiorespiratory physiology services in regional and national forums

- oIn depth knowledge of investigation, diagnosis and therapy in all areas of technical Cardiology

Management/ Leadership

- oMasters Degree level education or equivalent (e.g post-graduate diploma and experience oManagement and Leadership Qualification i.e ILM Level 7, or Mary Seacole or Equivalent
- oBSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent
- oAccreditation (or equivalent) at highly specialist level oILS or ALS certification
- oExtensive relevant experience working at senior management level
- oProven ability to deliver service redesign involving multiple professional disciplines; understanding of improvement methodology and project evaluation processes
