We are looking to appoint a Clinical Lead for Safecare to lead on a programme of work to ensure we are using the system fully to support real time staff deployment and decision making in relation to safe staffing.

Safecare is a module within HealthRoster that improves patient safety and productivity by taking into account patient numbers and their acuity and/or dependency to provide dynamic demand.

The Clinical Lead will provide specialist knowledge, skills and leadership in the speciality of Safecare and HealthRoster.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Nurse for Workforce, Deputy Director of Nursing, Rostering Teams, Clinical Site Teams, Ward Managers, Matrons and Divisional Leads to ensure Safecare it utilised daily, staff are trained and are competent in use.

The post holder will be part of the corporate nursing team and will assist in the setting and monitoring of roster standards, the delivery and monitoring of training and competency, work with ward leaders and Matrons to keep agreed programmes of work to timetable, lead on reviews and evaluation of safecare, collating, analysing and reporting of data as required.

  • To lead a programme of work that will support the delivery and evaluation of SafeCare across the organisation to ensure it meets business needs, delivers agreed benefits within agreed timescales.
  • To provide specialist knowledge and skills and leadership in the speciality area of SafeCare and Health Roster.
  • To work closely with the Deputy Director of Nursing, Lead Nurse for workforce, and wider teams to ensure accurate and live rosters across the organisation, leading on related KPI's.
  • Ensure that all staff are competent in the use of the safecare system and that objectives and targets for specific areas of responsibility are achieved within agreed timescales.
  • To embed SafeCare Module across in patient wards and departments, delivering training and support required to ensure its efficient and effective use.
  • To prepare performance metrics on a monthly and bi-annual basis that will be used at Workforce and divisional meetings and inform board reports.
  • To provide a key presence and directional support at daily safe staffing meetings in relation to safe staffing processes and deployment of staff.
  • To contribute to strategy formation and organisational decisions and interpret and explain these to appropriate individuals and teams.
