Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Locally Employed Doctor (DCT2-DCT3 Equivalent) to work in our dynamic and Oral & Maxillofacial department. Applications are welcome and the post is available from June for a period of 12 months. You will be expected to be first on-call in the day time only with no night commitment. Candidates for this role must have full GDC Registration and recent experience within the NHS in OMFS.
Main duties of the job
o To be responsible for the continuing care of patients as designated by consultant staff.o To perform regular ward rounds to ensure regular review of in-patients.o To participate in minor oral surgery and fast track clinics in the department as required.o To participate in meaningful audit within the department.o To participate in the training of junior medical staff and other staff.o To deputise for colleagues at an appropriate level.o To carry out appropriate administrative duties in support of clinical commitments.o In certain cases, changes to the published job plan may be necessary in order to facilitate patient care and safety. There changes should only be temporary in nature eg: cover for another middle grade whilst on leave.o To develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.o To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.o To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.o To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.

We also provide services such as consultant-led outreach clinics at the Wrekin Community Clinic, Telford, the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Gobowen and the Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Whitchurch Community Hospitals.
