Job summary

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Centre at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

The Trauma and Orthopaedic ward is a very busy department and the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to successfully provide support to the team and its patients.

Along with your GCSE's in Maths and English (grade 9 - 4 or equivalent), you must have experience in a similar role. Experience of working within healthcare is desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the ward with ordering stock, assisting in delivering catering to patients and ensuring the ward is clean and tidy so that the ward is a safe environment at all times.

Main duties of the job

  • Answer the telephone, relay messages accurately and welcome visitors to the ward.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Be aware of and support individual, religious and psychological needs.
  • Liaise with other departments as requested.
  • Support patient communication.
  • Liaise with Senior Housekeeper.
  • Support other members of directorate Housekeeper team.

About us

We are a 26 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic ward based on Ward 4. We are a busy and friendly ward caring for patients with various trauma and orthopaedic injuries. We are looking an individual who will enhance our amazing team. The role of the Housekeeper provides a 7 day service which will be shared with another member of staff.
