Job summary
The Digital Programme forms an integral part of an innovative and exciting transformation programme to review how we enable our patients and citizens digitally, utilising new technologies and making digital accessible to all.
This clinically driven programme of work will align other digital programmes of work to ensure transformational change is embedded and adopted, whilst also focussing on the levelling up of digital maturity across all partner organisations.
The post will be hosted by The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH).
Main duties of the job
- Represent SaTH in sensitive situations, delivering difficult messages where required to high-level audiences
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Deal with complex and conflicting subject matter problems
- Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, including presenting information about projects and dependencies to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in formal settings.
- Liaises regularly with; Chief Information Officers, ICS representatives, SaTH Senior Management Teams, Finance Leads NHS England, Digital, Transformation and Digital Teams, IT suppliers
- Accountable for all aspects of Portfolio Management, working at senior Level and with key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders and service leads, using NHS standards
- Liaise closely with identified IT service providers, PMO offices, managers and clinicians
- Produce progress reports for Executive level Advisory Groups, Strategic Clinical Development Boards
- Day to day line management for Digital resource linked to agreed Digital programmes of work
- Work as part of the Senior Management Team
- Make decisions in an autonomous manner but mindful of the wider strategic and operational context

- Proven track record of consistently delivering on objectives and successfully managing and mitigating digital risks
- Proven experience in building programme governance structures
- In depth specialist knowledge and experience and delivering project life-cycle from business case to benefits realisation including formal project
- Experiencing in developing service improvement programmes and monitoring performance improvements
