Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the Patient Access Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This is an exciting development opportunity to join our team within the Surgery, Anaesthetics and Cancer Division, working with the wider Trust to support the Division and clinical site teams in providing an excellent service and experience within our trust.
We have one Permanent post and one secondment/fixed term post available.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for supporting activity within the Division by ensuring there are beds available for our TCI patients, by expediting flow through ED for surgical and Trauma patients. The post holder must have an understanding of current acute hospital performance indicators ensuring that local and national targets are achieved.
The successful candidate will need to be a quick thinker and strong leader with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to negotiate sound operational decisions in rapidly changing situations therefore a calm and pleasant manner is essential. The job is challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will require determination, resilience and excellent communication skills.
The post holder will work autonomously, but with support and liaison with operational managers and the clinical site team. The post holder will ensure the timely action and communication of all elective care issues.
This post is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford site and will include cross site working and cover on occasions.
