This job is now closed

Job summary

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Chaplain to work within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust across the two hospital sites. We are looking for candidates who share our passion for providing excellence in Compassionate Care to patients, relatives, friends, carers, volunteers and members of staff.

We are looking to appoint experienced Chaplains who are able to work flexibly and creatively to deliver effective pastoral care within an acute Trust that is investing in its chaplaincy service. You will already have a proven record of substantial pastoral experience and demonstrable Chaplaincy team working skills in a multi-faith environment. Previous experience of Healthcare Chaplaincy is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

We believe that providing excellent care is about having the best people, inspired and supported by the best leaders, with training and opportunities in place to support your development. You will be required to develop an area of specialist interest to support Trust wide developments, to deliver training in faith and belief awareness and have excellent communication skills.

It is essential that you are open to the needs of all beliefs and none. You will need to be able to work with sensitivity and respect other chaplaincy team members, service users and volunteers.

About us

The role is demanding, and the successful candidates will need to be emotionally intelligent and able to work creatively within clear professional guidelines so as to be able to manage difficult situations whilst acting as a reflective practitioner.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Chaplaincy team seeking to grow and reflect diversity to meet the needs of our patients, community, and workforce. The Trust is seeking applicants interested in both full time and part time positions.

You will need to be able to drive between sites and take part in on call provision for both hospitals.
