Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, interested to join a team of enthusiastic and committed professionals in delivering the Prime Minister's Challenge on Dementia (2015) and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health services (2019) in the London Borough of Hounslow.

West London NHS Trust, Cognitive Impairment and Dementia services deliver specialist care to patients in the locality who are experiencing cognitive problems & dementia that impacts upon their abilities to carry out activities of daily living.

This is a permanent B7 Specialist OT post in Ealing CIDS team. The post holder will have Clinical as well as managerial responsibilities to look after the OT team members. They will also get opportunities to work closely with Specialist nurse within CIDS team and to deputise for Team manager, CIDS.

Main duties of the job

This is a B7 post is based in the vibrant London Borough of Ealing.

The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team within the older people's mental health service line. Patients who are referred to this service are those with cognitive impairment who are requiring for dementia screening and potential diagnosis.

Occupational Therapy service also provide post-diagnostic supports including cognitive rehabilitation, advise on dementia design, equipment provision and advise to carers/family. They will also work alongside activity co-ordinators and psychology colleagues in facilitating group and individual therapeutic activities either in the clinic or through electronic platforms.

OPMHS OT team is a large and diverse team, which includes team members who have trained overseas. We have a robust induction and training programme to integrate new team members in the Trust and the service line. We are passionate about our team members' health & well-being and career progression.
