Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Sister at Clayponds Hospital, you will
Lead, coordinate and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in an intermediate care setting
Use advanced clinical assessment skills to support timely admissions and effective discharges
Act as a visible role model, supporting junior staff through supervision, education and mentorship
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centred care
Promote a learning culture, encouraging reflective practice and continuous improvement
Confidently manage clinical risk, respond to emergencies, and escalate appropriately
Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills
Remain calm under pressure and adaptable to changing service needs
Commit to professional development and uphold the Trust's values of caring, excellence, responsibility and togetherness

- Registered General Nurse, Adult Branch and current NMC Registration
- Experience and evidence of teaching and assessing e.g. Preceptorship/Mentor
- Commitment to complete Independent Nurse Prescriber course
- Advanced clinical assessment skills at minimum level 6 study or similar course or commitment to complete.
- Evidence of recent CPD

- Advanced clinical skills - ability to assess, diagnose and treat as an independent practitioner minimum level 6 study or similar
- Independent Nurse Prescriber
Experience

- Demonstrable experience and work qualification, preferably within an Intermediate Care or community environment.
- Experience of supervising junior staff in the team
- Experience of quality improvement processes including audit, risk management and a good understanding of clinical governance and change managemen
- Experience of and ability to communicate effectively with variety of partners and stakeholders - verbal, written and electronically
- Ability to problem solves and prioritise.
- Experience of complaints handling
