Main duties of the job
As a Payroll Assistant at West London NHS Trust, you'll help with ensuring our staff are accurately and promptly compensated. You will have involvement with the entire payroll process, from handling new starters and leavers to processing salary adjustments, overtime, statutory payments, and deductions. Your role includes maintaining and updating detailed payroll records, ensuring strict compliance with relevant legislation, and addressing payroll-related queries with clarity and professionalism.
You'll collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to verify and reconcile payroll data, support month-end and year-end payroll activities, and assist in the preparation of detailed financial reports. Additionally, you'll play a key role in administering the Trust's pension schemes and liaising with external bodies, such as HMRC. Success in this role demands a meticulous eye for detail, discretion with sensitive information and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
