Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Costing Team, within the Finance Department at West London NHS Trust, as Business Support and Costing Accountant on a full time basis.
This role is key to the production, management and communication of costing data within the Trust.
The role supports the Trust's operational teams and managers as well as the finance team. The role will also support the Trust's submission to NHSE's annual National Costing Collection, the annual NHS Benchmarking framework return and the quarterly SLR production.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have significant analytical and logical abilities in working with complex data. We are looking for a highly organised individual who is able to contribute to projects on a day-to-day basis. You should be confident, self-motivated and be able to assist in data manipulation of large volumes of data.
Previous NHS finance knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
The finance department has a strong culture of personal and professional development with a track record of developing team members to progress their career internally within the department. The department is accredited for training and CPD with CIMA, ACCA, and AAT and has recently achieved FFF level 2 accreditation.
Main duties of the job
The role will contribute to the Trust's annual comprehensive National Cost Collection (NCC) submission, be instrumental in sharing with clinical areas their costs, providing training to finance and non-finance staff where necessary and maintaining the monthly production of SLR and various reports that inform Trust Management of the performance of their areas.
The post holder will work closely with the Business Intelligence team and is responsible for ensuring that data received is in the required format with acceptable data quality, and successfully imports into the Trust's costing system. The post holder will also work closely with the Management Accountants to ensure that expenditure and income is correctly coded and linked to the chart of accounts.
