Job summary
An exciting newly created full time post in Tier 3 Ealing CAMHS Adolescent team; caring for young people aged 15-18 yrs of age. Tier 3 CAMHS offers specialist assessment, therapeutic interventions and support to children and young people who are presenting with severe and complex mental health difficulties. We have a streamlined approach to new assessments but allow for flexibility and innovation in how care is delivered, to allow for the young person, their family and treating clinicians to agree on what would best aid the young person's recovery.
Main duties of the job
The Adolescent Team is part of a thriving CAMHS service and offers opportunities for close working with colleagues in the Ealing Children and families teams (seeing under 15 yr olds), the Ealing neurodevelopmental team and the Alliance team and Eating disorders team which work across three Boroughs. The Ealing Adolescent team is a compassionate and creative team which values multi-disciplinary working with opportunities to engage in our new DBT skills group, our staff reflective practice and teaching slots and support to undertake service development and quality improvement projects.
The Ealing patient population is extremely mixed and cases are varied and interesting with scope to work alongside youth ambassadors in the Trust to better engage with hard to reach communities.
The job would involve joining our team as a full time staff grade doctor with roles alongside team members in the assessment and treatment of young people meeting our threshold. Presentations include psychosis, affective disorders, PTSD and emotional dysregulation as well as high risk behaviours including self-harm.
