Our current Deputy Chief Nurse will be taking up the Trust's Interim Chief Nurse post. This provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and high-achieving individual to take up the Interim Deputy Chief Nurse role for a minimum period of 6 months.

Main duties of the job
Working closely with the Interim Chief Nurse, you will provide strategic and value based professional leadership for our talented nursing workforce and will ensure that our nursing practice is of the highest possible standard. Through strong professional leadership, the Deputy Chief Nurse will empower staff to develop best practice in the delivery of high-quality patient care, fostering and enhancing a collaborative and inclusive culture which builds on our Trust values.

Fundamental to this role is to lead the profession in showing kindness, dignity, respect and care for our colleagues, patients, and their families.
As well as providing visible and purposeful leadership within the organisation with a focus on to the nursing and quality agenda, the Deputy Chief Nurse will be the lead for pre and post registration nurse education and training (including Internationally Educated Nurses, newly registered nurses and nursing students and apprentices), operationally managing the corporate Nursing Practice Development and Innovation Team. The post holder will work largely unsupervised and will be able to credibly influence across the organisation and health and social care system at the highest level.
