An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to play a pivotal part in the planning, development and evaluation of highly specialist Occupational Therapy services within Hounslow CAMHS.
The successful applicant will join the Hounslow CAMHS Neuro-developmental Team which is based at Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health. The Neurodevelopmental Team is multi-disciplinary, including psychiatry, nursing, family therapy psychology, psychotherapy and social work. The post holder will be part of a growing team of clinicians with a special interest and expertise in working with children, and young people, who are presenting with complex mental health needs.
The post holder will join the multidisciplinary CAMHS Neuro-development Team in the provision of comprehensive assessments and treatments for children and young people presenting with neuro-developmental conditions.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the multidisciplinary CAMHS Neuro-development Team in the
provision of comprehensive assessments and treatments for children and young people
presenting with neuro-developmental conditions. For some cases, the post holder will be
primary case manager, for others the post holder will provide input to the case as a team
member offering specific assessments and treatments, or providing monitoring or as co-worker to the case worker.
To post holder will provide specialist, culturally appropriate, evidence based occupational
therapy assessments as part of a comprehensive multi professional assessment for children
and young people in order to establish and meet their occupational needs. In addition, they
will provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment of a child or young person's
motor, process and sensory development in order to assess their need and where indicated
provide appropriate advice and intervention
