An exciting opportunity has arisen for an occupational therapist with the necessary skills, enthusiasm and experience to lead the OT service in the Ealing MINT team. This is a unique and very exciting job opportunity for a highly experienced occupational therapist with leadership and mental health experience to develop their skills as a senior practitioner. We will support you to develop into the role and grow your skill base as a clinical leader.
West London NHS Trust has developed new Mental Health Integrated Network Teams (MINT) from the Community Framework for mental health, which redefines community mental health care to focus on the individual strengths and needs of the service user. Occupational therapy is at the core of this new approach and the successful applicant will develop and expand our service in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
You will be one of two Senior Band 7 OTs across the borough of Ealing who lead a team of occupational therapists, link workers and an apprentice OT. Together you will forge a successful therapy programme that meets the needs of people with mental health difficulties living in the community. You will also need to form effective working relationships with the wider clinical team (including peer support workers), inpatients services, older persons, perinatal and CAMHS alongside Local Authority teams, community assets and third sector organisations,
You work closely with the MINT Service Lead Occupational Therapist, and the Professional Lead for OT and Head of VRS in the management and co-ordination of the occupational therapy service. As a senior practitioner you will also be expected to support the MINT team managers in their absence.

- BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification
- HCPC Registered
- Evidence of post-graduate training in mental health
- Clinical supervision training
- Practice placement educator training

- Considerable post qualification experience as a Band 6 or equivalent Occupational Therapist
- Clear indication of an interest in the relevant Mental Health area
- In-patient and/or community mental health OT clinical experience
- Supervision of O.T.s and support staff
- Supervision of O.T. students on practice placement
- Demonstrated involvement in service development

- Experience of community based mental health services
