Job summary

If you are an Occupational Therapist, Nurse, or a Social Worker, we have an exciting Band 7 opportunity in our Ealing Crisis, Assessment & Treatment Team (CATT). You will gain a variety of experience as a key member of the community healthcare team and be part of a multi-disciplinary service that other teams call on for help. Working in this service places you on the frontline of community mental health service and will enable you to respond to a variety of clinical needs at short notice.

The CATT team offers assessments and also brief home-based treatment to people with mental health problems at risk of admission to hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the participating in and overseeing the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for the team's clients and maintaining the associated records. They will also lead and monitor the performance and work of the staff in the team. The Senior Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the team manager and deputise for them when required.

The post holder will work within a 24 hour rota system -- ensuring that a comprehensive service is provided to patients 365 days a year, an excellent interface with the Single Point of Access and other significant interfaces is maintained and robust gatekeeping at all times.

The post holder should have a variety of significant experience and previous community experience would be ideal

They will be active in the promotion and use of evidence-based practice through the provision of clinical advice and support; acting as a role model; and providing education and training where appropriate. They will liaise closely with carers, both statutory and non-statutory services, emergency services, and 3rd sector services. They will liaise closely with local services Single Point of Access providing rapid response to mental health crisis situations where necessary and appropriate to decrease the number of unnecessary presentations to A&E.

The post holder will also be responsible in ensuring CATT works very closely with the inpatient wards and ensure that the CATT offers a responsive service, whilst understands that working in partnership with the inpatient wards reduces the length of stay, hence ensuring bed availability for service users of WLT who require inpatient admissions.

The post holder will also deliver supervision for junior colleagues. To work within a 24 hour 7 day a week rota system, ensuring that a comprehensive service is provided to patients and robust gatekeeping is maintained.

  • Registered on the NMC register, parts 3, 4 or 13 or Registered OT, Social worker. ( HCPC)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Mentorship/Teaching & assessing qualification
  • Full UK Driving licence

Desirable

  • First or higher degree in appropriate subject area
  • ENB 998, 812 or equivalent
  • Nurse prescriber or willingness to become a nurse prescriber

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a variety of MH settings as a qualified practitioner.
  • At least 12 months at band 6 or equivalent.
  • Delivering Clinical supervision/ reflective practice to nursing as well as other professionals
  • Multi-disciplinary team working.

Desirable

  • 6 months working in a CMHT, CRHTT, Liaison nursing, intake service or equivalent
