Job summary
As an experienced qualified PMVA Instructor, you will be part of the full-time PMVA team based on our St Bernard's site.
As well as assisting with the daily delivery of all mandatory & bespoke PMVA training for both forensic and local services staff, your role will include supporting our clinical areas and other services with the planning and implementation of PMVA related interventions.
This position will require you to be a PPE Advisor who will support our forensic PPE response service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the daily planning & preparation of PMVA training courses, delivering both theoretical & practical sessions, supporting & assessing learners, evaluating training and completing all relevant administration.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting processes appertaining to their role and responsibilities.

The post holder will work within the perimeters of the West London NHS Trust PMVA Positive & Safe Violence Reduction & Management training programme/Instructors manual, adhere to Instructor professional codes of practice as well as national best practice guidance and standards.
The post holder will actively support the PMVA service user involvement group, developing and promoting co-produced PMVA training materials and PMVA related projects.
The post holder will work alongside our clinical teams & services promoting least restrictive and safe PMVA practices. They will support clinical teams and services, providing both planned and unplanned PMVA advice and assistance. When necessary, this will require the post holder to support secure & high risk escorts.
The post holder will provide advice & support to incident review teams in relation to PMVA &/or PPE interventions.
As a trained PPE Responder & Advisor for forensic services, the post holder will be a part of the 24hr on-call PPE Advisor rota. This requires the ability to access an incident that may require PPE, offering PPE advice to unit co-ordinators, on-call Senior Managers and Silver Command. They must be able to lead and manage the deployment of PPE teams.
