We are currently recruiting for a band 6 Project Manager to join the Clinical Exercise and Sport team at West London NHS Trust. Exercise and physical activity is a valued part of the daily rehabilitation programme and takes place either on our on-site gymnasiums/sports halls or in nearby community facilities
You will be a highly motivated individual who can plan and manage your own workload but also work within a variety of teams to better meet service needs. Ideally with a range of experience, you will have the ability to adapt activities and provide innovative solutions to the challenges encountered in the sphere of work.
You'll need to be able to demonstrate personal involvement and an enthusiastic commitment to a physically active lifestyle. A degree in Exercise Science, Sports Coaching or Health Promotion is essential and a related postgraduate qualification will be highly desirable.
Main duties of the job
This is a Senior Exercise Specialist role within the Clinical Exercise and Sport Team in West London Forensic Services (WLFS), and requires working in line with agreed local and regional needs and priorities. There will be a specific focus on preventative health interventions and tackling obesity and its comorbidities; example of current priorities include reducing sedentary behaviour on the wards, targeted obesity interventions and targeted health and wellbeing interventions.
The post holder will have experience of working to reduce health inequalities in a local authority, public health or multi-agency setting, and will play an important role in developing the skills and knowledge of others regarding health inequalities. You will work in collaboration with a range of healthcare professionals to make a significant contribution to the physical heath of the WLFS inpatient groups. The post holder will lead on specific projects within the team, and liaise with a variety of stakeholders, both within and outside the Trust. This will provide support to the Head of Clinical Exercise and Sport to take forward the agenda's of reducing morbidities and increasing activities of the service users.
