Consultant Child Psychiatrist

West London NHS Trust

Information:

Job summary

The West London NHS Trust specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health services are undergoing significant modernisation. In addition to new investment through the Long Term Plan, the services are transitioning to a system-wide Thrive-based model of delivery. This represents an important opportunity for renewal and modernisation alongside system partners.

The West London NHS Trust are inviting applications for consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists to join the established services at the Ealing CAMHS Adolescent Team and the Hounslow Child and Families Team.

Main duties of the job

WLT CAMHS offers comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, for children, young people and families in the 0-18 age range. It is a community based out-patient service characterised by family-centred and individually tailored treatment packages. There are close links with colleagues in Tier 2 CAMHS services, Acute and Community Paediatrics, Education, Social Services, Primary Care, and Adult Mental Health Services and trust-wide CAMHS Crisis and Eating Disorder teams.

The Ealing Adolescent team treats young people aged 14 to 18 years of age and the Hounslow Child and Families Team treats young people up to the age of 15 years.

The children's mental health services in the Trust are in the rare position of having the diversity of the workforce match the diversity of the local population - creating unusual opportunity for increased accessibility. The HSJ-shortlisted CAMHS Training and Progression Programme facilitates development of new staff and has significantly impacted on recruitment and retention.
