Job summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly enthusiastic Principal Lead Clinical Psychologist to join a dynamic team of professionals and contribute to the provision and development of the wider service here in Hounslow.

Employment is held by West London NHS Trust, but the role is working in the neighboring borough's Hounslow Adult Learning Disability Health Team.

The service has very close working relationships with social care colleagues as well as partners in primary and secondary care settings. The aim of always providing a person-centered response based on identified service user need.

As the senior psychologist in the service, you are well placed to innovate and to actively take the service forwards with colleagues and delivery services in creative and new ways for service users and their families.

In October 2021, the service received a 'highly commended' accolade from PrescQIPP (national pharmacy awards) for the work we undertook in relation to the national STOMP programme and medication reduction programme where we witnessed incredible results.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake specialist assessments, formulations and implement plans for the formal treatment and management of a service user's needs, based on an appropriate conceptual framework and employ methods based on evidence-based practice with appropriate risk management plans in place.

In addition, you will work with families, carers and the 3rd sector partners to enable people who use our services to live as independent a life as possible within the community and to stay local. There will be opportunities to participate in service developments and to undertake clinical audit. The service is committed to developing its staff and have a range of learning opportunities available which are identified through the personal development (PDP) process.

Hounslow is a lively and dynamic west London borough and is one of the most ethnically and socially diverse areas of the capital. The majority of the work is centered locally; however, there is very occasional out of Borough work for residents that are the responsibility of the NW London Integrated Care System (ICS) - Hounslow area (Transforming Care cases)

If you're up for a professional challenge and have a genuine desire to develop and deliver services in innovate ways, then we would like to hear from you.
