We are looking to appoint a HS CAMH Social Worker who is able to demonstrate a commitment to creative engagement with a culturally diverse population of young people, shows initiative, demonstrates excellent leadership skills, is a team player and is able to communicate ideas clearly to both professionals and young people alike. Ability to demonstrate knowledge, competence and an interest in working with children who present with complex mental health needs is essential for the role. The Social Worker will need to be flexible and have the necessary skills and experience to provide high quality care that is both evidence based and client focussed, whilst also demonstrating supervision and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

As a HS CAMH Social Worker you will work autonomously to provide advanced mental health assessment and specialist intervention for children and young people presenting with complex and severe mental health problems and their families. You will support the Transforming Care Agenda and will work with young people with a diagnosis of ASD who are at risk of hospital admission or family breakdown due to crisis which may be driven by a variety of factors, including those of extreme challenging behaviour, mental health deterioration and/or safeguarding concerns.

You will work in partnership with children, young people, and their families, as well as statutory and voluntary agencies, to develop networks to enhance the quality of life of the young people and families.

You will contribute to the leadership and development of the CAMHS Social Work Team and Supervision Structure. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in; service development, audit, research, quality improvement projects.
