Job summary

Senior Practitioner - KUF and Trauma informed training lead.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Senior Practitioner band 7. Working alongside the Recovery College you will lead on developing further trauma informed courses and you will also work as the KUF (Knowledge and Understanding Framework) Lead and roll out the KUF training for West London NHS Trust to the staff team.

This role will also work closely with the newly developing Complex and Emotional Needs Service covering three London Boroughs - Hounslow, Hammersmith and Fulham and Ealing.

This post will be open to people from a range of disciplines within the mental health care professions eg social workers, nurses, OT's and psychologists. The role will be divided between rolling out the KUF training to West London NHS Trust employees but also supporting the development of training courses within the Recovery College that are trauma informed. You will lead on the development of training courses that support clients and prevent them to remain within primary care.

This role will entail you working in partnership with key stakeholders to imbed coproduction and trauma informed care.

You will need to be committed to KUF and the post requires an excellent understanding of the benefits of co-produced training and help others see the benefits.

You will need to work in partnership with the Recovery College, CEN service and the KUF development lead within the KUF Hub.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary:

To be responsible for the CEN leadership / training as part of the Recovery College, rolling out trauma informed training and leading on local KUF training. Training and leadership will be for clients who experience difficulties with emotional instability and relationships, particularly those who frequently use unplanned and emergency care. This post will lead on developing training around CEN to support clients who remain under the care of their GP or who are being transferred back to primary care as well as supporting West London NHS Trust staff to complete the KUF training.

You will contribute to effective and compassionate service development over the remaining years of the Long Term Plan for mental health, shaping this service according to population based needs as well as contributing to the planning and delivery of service objectives, managing specific change projects as required, ensuring client focus, consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

You will also work alongside the Mental Health Integrated Network Teams (MINT) looking at the needs of clients and offering an alternative to being under these services and a discharge pathway and offering service users the messages of hope, empowerment, possibility and aspiration.

  • Core Mental Health Profession registered with an appropriate professional body (e.g., NMC, UKCP, HCPC
  • Clinical/post graduate management qualification or equivalent level of experience and proven ability to perform at this level
  • Post graduate qualification that includes supervised and assessed psychotherapeutic training OR Formal training in DBT (to intensive/upgrade level) or MBT (basic and certificate training)
