Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT). This includes leading the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality assessment, co-ordination and care for patients under the care of Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT); who require assessment by secondary mental health services for pathway planning, brief interventions, crisis intervention in the community, gate keeping, ward in reach and discharge planning for the inpatient wards and Crisis Recovery house with the emphasis for providing home treatment. They will also lead and monitor the performance of the staff in the team and ensure that KPI's are met. The post holder will support the senior practitioners to lead on difficult and complex situations that require strong leadership to resolve and to act as main point of contact should a major incident occur which requires robust management and co- ordination.
The post holder will be involved in the on-going development of services, to ensure that the most relevant care pathway and care plan is devised to provide access to urgent and crisis care. They will be active in the promotion and use of evidence-based practice through the provision of clinical advice and support; acting as a role model; and providing education and training where appropriate. They will liaise closely with carers, both statutory and non-statutory services, emergency services, and 3rd sector services.

- To be a role model for the practice area, ensuring proactive involvement in patient care employing the necessary expertise in demonstrating the highest standards of evidence based care delivery. To ensure that the post holder fosters within the team the development of a broad range of clinical expertise in the holistic assessment and management of mental health crisis, using best practice.
- To establish and maintain comprehensive and meaningful networks with the Community Assessment Service, Liaison Psychiatry, Community Recovery Teams and In-patient Services in the borough, thereby maximising the use of available resources.
- To ensure that the work of CATT is reflective of local need.
- To establish effective working relationships with key Primary Care services, the Police, Housing, voluntary sector organisations and other referral agencies.
- To recognise the role of advocacy, autonomy and self-empowerment in the care of service users, and to promote this within the team
