We are pleased to announce an exciting vacancy for a dedicated, enthusiastic, Band 7 Clinical Lead Dietitian/Deputy Team Manager to join the well-established Physical Health Allied Health Professions (AHP) Team at West London NHS Trust. This post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Dietitian wishing to gain further leadership and management experience whilst also holding a clinically varied caseload. The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the two Band 6 and one Band 5 dietitians, that work within mental health services of the Trust, therefore some line management and/or supervisory experience would be useful. They will also provide clinical supervision to an additional Band 6 working in high secure services to ensure consistent care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering high quality, evidence-based physical health care to a mental health patient group with an aim of person-centred care. The successful candidate will be responsible for offering high quality, thorough dietetic assessments and interventions to a caseload whilst also leading and continuing to develop the Dietetic provision for our mental health services including Acute Mental Health Services, Older People's Mental Health Services, West London Forensic Service and Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIS).

The position will be based at St Bernard's Hospital, Southall but travel across our other in-patient and community sites in Ealing, Southall, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow will be essential. Previous experience of working with people who have mental illness, learning disability or behavioural difficulties is highly desirable but not essential. We will be flexible on which areas of our caseloads are covered by this role, and will agree on a caseload, based on the skills/experience and preferences of the successful candidate, alongside the needs of the service.

The successful candidate will join the well-regarded, supportive and friendly Physical Health AHP team including Dietitians, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists, in addition to the wider ward-based/community multidisciplinary teams. The Physical Health Allied Health Professions (AHP) Team is ultimately striving to ensure all mental health service users receive excellent integrated physical and mental healthcare. Use of outcome measures is considered essential for measuring effectiveness of interventions and the team proactively engage in audit, quality improvement and research activities alongside this.

The Band 7 Clinical Lead Dietitian/Deputy Team Manager will be supported by the Physical Health AHP Team Manager and will deputise in the absence along with peers from Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy. Regular clinical supervision, appraisal, involvement in quality improvement projects and training opportunities will be provided.
