Job summary

West London NHS Trust are currently advertising a number of Consultant Psychiatrist opportunities in our Acute Mental Health Services.

We are firmly committed to reducing harm and loss of enjoyment from mental disorders in the populations we serve.

We are looking for capable, effective clinicians to join our team, but are much more interested in your attitude and potential than your experience to date.

If appointed, you will be joining an experienced and welcoming team of consultants, who scored above benchmarks in our recent Staff Survey. We have a clear sense of purpose and strong sense of team. We will robustly support your professional and clinical development, as well as any areas of professional interest you are keen to pursue.

Each of our posts is available on a full time basis, and all are open to the possibility of less than full time working.

Main duties of the job

We want Consultant Psychiatrists who do three key things;

-Deliver the highest quality of clinical care to the patients and carers we see today.

-Work closely with, facilitate, actively develop, and support your overall team. A highly functioning team doesn't just make your own professional life easier, it improves outcomes for our patients and carers.

-Take steps every day to ensure the quality of care we provide to our patients and carers of tomorrow will be even better, actively engaging with opportunities for learning, growth, and service developments. Providing expert advice to our managers and directors on what is needed to deliver excellent care, areas we should improve or pursue for funding opportunities, and strategic directions we should take in the future. No changes are made without including our consultant team.

You don't need a vast array of experience to apply, but you do need a positive attitude and be committed to delivering your best in these three key areas.
