Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Whittington Health. This is to fill a new post.The post has been established to contribute to the delivery of high quality of care for Orthopaedic & spinal patients both during the day and out of hours.The post-holder will work under the remit of the collective consultant body across all subspecialties.The successful applicant will contribute towards the waiting list initiative through day-case surgery, emergency trauma surgery; outpatient clinics, including administrative duties, and is expected to support the resident doctors.The position will be for 12 months in the first instance

- Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
- Evidence of achievement of ST2,CT2 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application and likelihood of achieving ST3/CT3 competences in a relevant specialty by the start date of the post.
Clinical skills
Essential
- Relevant specialty clinical knowledge: Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job
- Clinical judgement: Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
- Practical skills: Shows aptitude for practical skills, required in the job. Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required in the job.

- FRCS or equivalent

- Oncology experience and general skills so able to demonstrate they can safely provide Middle Grade cover for the acute oncology service
