Job summary

Band 4 Nursery Nurse

Due to vacancy within our establishment, we are looking for a Band 4 Nursery Nurse on our Unit. If you are an enthusiastic nursery nurse who would like to work with Neonates then look no further. Come and join our team of experienced and friendly Neonatal Nurses who provide specialist care to Neonates from 27 weeks gestation.

We are a level 2 hospital within the North Central North East London Perinatal Network. We provide specialist care to neonates over 27 weeks gestation.

The unit have a family-focused philosophy in which staff and parents work together in partnership to provide the highest standards of care and we actively support developmental care. There are opportunities to develop clinical skills in a highly supportive environment, with a Practice Educator and Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Main duties of the job

Manages the day-to-day care of a cohort of special care babies.

Using evidence-based practice, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates programs of family-centred care for a defined group of patients.

Encourages and facilitates family involvement in decisions and the provision of care.

Have a sound knowledge of Breast-feeding and be able to support mothers who wish to breastfeed.

Promote "Safe Sleep" and have a sound knowledge of temperature control, developmental care.

Plans and implements care with regard to child development.

Maintains accurate and appropriate nursing documentation.
