Job summary

We are excited to offer a 1 year fixed term role at the Whittington Health, to provide clinical and strategic leadership to our Emergency and Integrated Medicine (EIM) directorate.

This is an exceptional activity full of opportunities for personal and professional development. Due to the hard work of the current post holder, the EIM pharmacy team is expanding and now is an exciting time to join us and support the on going developments both within the department and at Trust level. This role is full of opportunities to demonstrate clinical and strategic leadership at Trust level and within North Central London

As a member of the Senior Pharmacy Team, you will work collaboratively with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist in ensuring clinical pharmacy services are delivered in a safe and effective manner and will provide wider leadership to the entire pharmacy department.

Main duties of the job

  • To develop a consistently high quality clinical pharmacy service to the Emergency and Integrated Medicine (EIM) Integrated Clinical Service Unit (ICSU).
  • To developing the strategic vision and roadmap for pharmacy services within this ICSU, taking into account the diverse skills of the wider pharmacy team.
  • To work closely with the multidisciplinary team, to develop pharmacy within the various specialities within the EIM ICSU. These will include Acute and Emergency Medicine,Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Cardiology.
  • To support audit and research within the teams and promote the use of Quality Improvement (QI) methodology at all opportunities.
  • The post holder will support the development of emerging clinical pathways that will exist within EIM and identify opportunities to promote integrated working with Community Servicesand Primary Care.
  • To act as a member of the senior pharmacy team and provide strategic leadership both within the pharmacy department and to the wider Trust.

Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • MPharm (or equivalent)
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Further post graduate qualification Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy, or equivalent

Desirable

  • Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Independent Prescriber
  • Member of relevant professional clinical groups (e.g. UKCPA)
  • Leadership or Management qualification

  • High-level clinical skills sufficient to engage in appropriate dialogue with senior clinicians around complex clinical cases.
  • Can identify a vision for the delivery of pharmaceutical services to Emergency and Integrated Medicine
