Job summary

We are looking for an expert to lead our Telecommunications team at Whittington Health Integrated Care Organisation. You will be responsible for leading and managing our team as well as managing our critical telecommunications infrastructure and relationships. The role will build the services towards our digital strategy. The post holder will be responsible for providing mobiles, fixed line, VOIP and Bleep service across the Trust.

You will need strong basis built in the relevant technical skills with innate problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills. You should have experience in developing telecommunications infrastructure and building relationships with suppliers. You will need demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to engage across a wide group of stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the ongoing design, planning, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of an enterprise telecoms infrastructure for the Whittington Health NHS Trust.

  • Manage Telecommunications team (currently 3 staff)
  • Planning and prioritising the work of the team to ensure it is delivered in a timely manner and to a high standard.
  • Develop strong relationships with the Trust management and emergency planning staff.
  • Manage 3rd line suppliers and contracts.
  • Manage service development and planning.
  • Provide leadership in identifying hardware and software purchases, ensuring that they are consistent with the Trust's IT Strategy and NHS technology guidelines.
  • To lead telecoms and related projects on behalf of the Trust as required
  • Resolve complex, critical and sensitive telecommunications issues
  • Provide 3rd line technical support to Telecommunication team & IM&T service desk staff
  • Be a source of technical and user documentation.

Responsible for the following Telecommunication services

  • Mitel IP Telephony network
  • Netcall Liberty Services - Contact Centre, Patient text reminder, Voicemail
  • Trust internal & external paging/ Multitone Bleep System
  • Trusts ISDX PABX
  • Trusts Voice network links & telephony lines
  • Trust Mobile phone device fleet, connections & infrastructure
  • Trust Oak Call Logger
