Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic trained nurse to join our established Coventry & Warwickshire Community TB Service. You will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality TB care in collaboration with other services within both the acute and primary care setting to provide a seamless service for people receiving TB treatment, their contacts and the wider community in accordance with nationally and locally agreed guidelines.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitable candidate wanting to implement their TB knowledge and to develop skills to become an autonomous practitioner and use leadership knowledge and skills to improve and develop services. st have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant will have their own case load of patients and will run nurse led clinics for treatment initiation and monitoring of patient with latent TB. As part of the TB team, you will be involved with contact tracing, BCG clinics and New Entrant Screening. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with people with diverse health and social needs are essential.
A full and valid UK driving licence with daily access to a car for work purposes is essential for this post.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
Managerial:
Works collaboratively with the multi professional team to develop and maintain a strategy relating to the care of patients in specialist area. Works both as an independent practitioner, and as an effective member of the wider interdisciplinary clinical team. Demonstrates excellent communication ability. Utilises an agreed service plan as a framework for service delivery. Leads clinical audit in own area.
Holds own defined caseload. Communicates complex, sensitive information effectively and empathetically to patients and relatives. Maintains personally generated observations in records. Assesses, develops and implements evidence based specialist nursing care programmes, and advice for patients and relatives. Work as an expert practitioner in given area, acting as a resource for other interdisciplinary healthcare professions. Maintains a high profile in the clinical area, acting as a role model for good practice. Works with professional groups and other agencies in both primary and secondary healthcare settings.
Teaching, Training and Research:
Provides informal support and education to patients/ carers and all professional disciplines as part of consultancy work. Participates in the delivery and evaluation of formal education programmes related to speciality. Identifies and plans education, participating in curriculum planning and delivery.
