Senior Clinical Fellow in Intestinal Failure

Job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hard-working clinical fellow (equivalent to ST4 or above) in Nutrition and Intestinal Failure at University Hospital of Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to spend 12 months working within a thriving multidisciplinary nutrition team in a large Intestinal Failure centre, commissioned to provide Type 2 and 3 IF care to patients from a wide area of the West Midlands. The post can be tailor made to the applicant's training needs but has a focus on inpatient and outpatient management of patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage inpatients with Types 1,2 and 3 Intestinal Failure and review patients on home parenteral support in the outpatient clinic. They will also be involved in reviewing patients requiring enteral nutrition support. They will work as an integral part of the Multidisciplinary nutrition team. They will attend the weekly IF MDT, IBD MDT, and will have the opportunity to attend the monthly Nutrition Steering Committee. The post will also include general gastroenterology experience including clinics and endoscopy training lists.

This role would suit registrars interested in pursuing a career in luminal gastroenterology, particularly Intestinal Failure.

The role will include opportunities for involvement in audit and research and engagement with post graduate teaching programmes within the hospital. Involvement in national Intestinal Failure initiatives would be possible for an interested candidate. Educational Supervision will be provided.
