Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic health care support worker to join our team looking after Cardiology patients undergoing procedures within the Cath Lab.
The post holder will be carrying out assigned tasks involving direct patient care, whilst demonstrating Trust values under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and also support the team with transfer of patients, stock management and infection control.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for own actions, ensuring all patient interactions/observations are communicated to the appropriate healthcare practitioner.
- Undertake agreed clinical and non-clinical tasks, extending range following training in defined practices.
- Ensure referral to the appropriate healthcare practitioner where appropriate, for example if any concerns are identified before or after a procedure.
- Help with the collection/transfer of patients to and from the Catheter Suite department.
- Prepare the documentation for the following days admissions.
- Demonstrate technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management, for example preparing patients for procedures and recovering patients following their procedure under supervision of a trained colleague and once competencies are met.
- Plan your daily workload, including stocking and cleaning of identified medical and non-medical equipment, for example, Cath Labs, recovery area, procedure trolleys.
- Check stock levels within labs and escalate any shortages to clinical teams and stock personnel
