Senior Clinical Fellow in Care of the Elderly

The closing date is 14 August 2025

Job summary

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 15th August 2025

We are proud to offer a range of exciting opportunities for motivated doctors with an interest in Elderly Care, Frailty or General Internal Medicine. These posts offer development of knowledge and skills within a large acute teaching hospital and a 12-month fix-term contract.

As a Senior Clinical Fellow you will participate in a rota which will give you experience on the geriatric wards including the care of geriatric and general medical patients. You will be part of a Consultant led team of junior doctors and help lead and participate in ward rounds and board rounds. There will be the opportunity to actively support the Frailty SDEC service and Frailty Short Stay Ward. You will also participate in the general medical SPR on-call rota.

Successful applicants will need 2 years' experience within acute or general medicine post-foundation training. Doctors previously fulfilling these roles have been: trust grade doctors, those considering a change in specialty, and medical trainees completing OOPEs. The posts may also appeal to GPs wishing to develop a special interest. Our senior clinical fellows are a hugely valued group who work closely with the consultant body in all areas of our specialty.

N.B. We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date if we receive a high volume of applications or if there has been a change in organisational priorities.
