Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated passionate individual with Leadership and Training/Education experience to join the existing Training Team in Theatres , UHCW . The role involves supporting the Clinical Facilitators in the Team to deliver training and education and support the development of Nursing and ODP staff working in Theatres. You will possess excellent communication skills and ensure implementation of safe , evidence based practice thus contributing to the continual development of quality services provided to patients and others who come into contact with the Trust.
The post holder will support the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and audit of nursing/midwifery/ODP policies, protocols, guidelines and standards ensuring that they meet current practice and professional regulations.
The Post holder will be expected to work across sites at both UHCW and Rugby St Cross.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- Act professionally, developing the role of the nurse/ODP in the best interests of the patient and profession in accordance with the relevant professional body codes of professional conduct,
- Maintain an identifiable clinical presence, work in practice and undertake relevant clinical activities to maintain own clinical competency and to support staff in developing clinical practice.
- Ensure that evidence-based practice is developed and implemented to improve patient care.
- Acquaint the Lead Nurse for Theatres, Theatre Managers and Clinical Facilitators with professional, operational or clinical concerns and romote professional practise at all times
- Act as a clinical role model for effective clinical leadership enabling and facilitating others to take forward initiatives.
- Attain continuous improvements to service provision by maintaining current/up to date knowledge of best practice and by creating an environment of trust and respect.
- Work collaboratively with other professional groups to maximise development opportunities and interprofessional learning opportunities.
- Maximise opportunities to share good practices and innovations with colleagues locally and nationally.
- Represent the Trust on external professional groups and network with colleagues from other organisations as appropriate.
