Are you an experienced and compassionate nurse ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual to join Ward 41 as a Band 7 Ward Manager.
Ward 41 is a 36-bedded Acute Stroke ward, located at UHCW.
Within its footprint, Ward 41 comprises of a 12 bedded Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) and a 24 bedded Acute Stroke Unit (ASU). For awareness, there are an additional 7 Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) beds on Ward 42, totalling 43 beds across the Stroke speciality.
Ward 41 comprises of a vast Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) both internal and external to UHCW. This includes therapists (Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy), Neuropsychology and Integrated Discharge Team (IDT). Main duties of the job
- Accountable for own actions in accordance with Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times
- Highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high quality service and ensuring timely management and resolution of unexpected events and situations. Undertake bleep-holder responsibilities for the hospital on a regular basis
- A knowledgeable team leader and resource for staff, advising on national, local and Trust policy and procedures/guidelines, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice. Will support staff and users in service and policy development within a defined area/ speciality.
- Responsible for identifying and assessing complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implementing resolutions and monitoring/auditing outcomes
- Responsible for interdepartmental/organisational activities including HR; budget management; complaints; hospital bleep-holder responsibilities and patient flow
- Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including; complex patient monitoring; equipment management and administration of invasive tests/procedures
