Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Upper GI team. The post will comprise of a rota pattern consisting of Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 normal workingdays, day and night on-calls over weekdays and weekends which will cover the surgical assessmentunit (SAU) and emergency theatres.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties will include:
- Admission and review of patients in the Emergency Department.
- Supporting the team in theatre.
- Supporting the Upper GI team with ward rounds.
- Supporting the team with outpatient clinics and follow up.
- Participation in clinical audit within the Unit.
- Opportunity to engage in clinical research.
- Active involvement in the training and supervision of Junior Medical Staff and medical students on ward rounds, in theatre and in clinics.
- To take part in the junior clinical fellow on-call rota for General Surgery.
