Job summary

We currently have vacancies within our Wound Healing Service. We are a specialist Wound Service focusing on Hard to Heal wounds, working with each patient on realistic goals depending on their wound healing potential.

We deliver advanced wound healing treatments within patients own home or residential/nursing home and within a clinic setting for ambulatory patients. We also work alongside Practice Nurses, Community Nurses and nursing homes offering lots of variety to the role with imparting wound care knowledge across the community.

The role involves working within a variety of settings including clinic, community or residential home settings depending on the patient's needs, delivering advanced wound healing interventions.

To work as an engaged member of the Wound Healing Service to provide effective evidence based Wound healing treatments and advice to patients who attend the Wound Healing Service.

Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

Please note that a Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

The role involves working within a variety of settings including clinic, community or residential home settings depending on the patient's needs, delivering advanced wound healing interventions.

To work as an engaged member of the Wound Healing Service to provide effective evidence based on Wound healing treatments and advice to patients who attend Wound Healing Service. To support the service with the supervision of learners and visitors to the clinics. To take charge of the working area during the span of duty in the absence of the wound care sister with support from other senior staff, registered nurses and Healthcare Support workers.

To develop in conjunction with the patient an individualised care plan that identifies if the patient has potential for wound healing, requires further MDT involvement or advice on how to live well with a wound.
