Job summary
An exciting position has become available for a Band 6 Gait Lab Movement Analyst or Engineer with relevant experience to join a multi-disciplinary team gait laboratory at University Hospital Coventry. You will work as part of a small team in partnership with other technical staff, physiotherapists, clinicians and administrative staff to provide gait laboratory services. The laboratory was established in 2017 in a new purpose built facility and is equipped with a Vicon motion capture system (14 tracking cameras and 4 video cameras), 3 AMTI force plates and a 16 channel Delsys EMG system. The successful candidate will act as a junior technical team member for the laboratory and contribute to all aspects of the work. Both 2D and 3D clinics are run routinely. You will contribute to the quality control and testing of equipment, analysis of clinical data and the development of operating procedures, audits and work towards CMAS accreditation. The successful applicant would be expected to be onsite for two clinic days per week with some potential flexibility and home working outside these days.

Main duties of the job
- Routine calibration, quality assessment and preventative maintenance1.1. Carry out routine calibration, quality assessment and maintenance of medical equipment independently in line with level of training and competence.1.2. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with departmental and Trust policies and procedures.1.3. Coordination of the scheduling of the above work.1.4. Calibration and some quality assessment tasks will have to take place early in the morning on clinical days before patients arrive.
- Testing, updating and fault finding of equipment and software2.1. Assist with the commissioning of medical equipment and its software, in line with level of training and competence.2.2. This may involve in-service training and/or attendance on training courses located outside the Trust, as agreed with the senior technical staff.5.3.
