Job summary
As an experienced hospital Pharmacy Technician are you ready to enhance your career and join our enthusiastic and committed team? The recent changes within our technical team have created an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual.
Here at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust we continually strive to develop our technical roles, providing opportunities to be innovative, drive change and improve job satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pharmacy assurance, including areas such as our Wholesaler Dealers License and Business Continuity Plan, working collaboratively with our governance and operational team. The post holder will oversee departmental change requests and action logs. This role requires excellent planning skills, whilst embracing the challenges of compliance and engaging the pharmacy teams, continually exploring potential for improving/developing services and patient experience.
In 2018 we fully automated all our medication storage on wards (72 Omnicells and growing), this was the first part of our move towards our longer term automation strategy. The next phase is to automate our main dispensary ready for the new Trust EPR system. This is an exciting time to join this journey as we move towards being fully automated across all our activities; prescribing, clinical screening, dispensing and storage.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with Dispensary and Ward Services Managers and will be supported and mentored by the Operational and Technical Lead for Pharmacy. As an expanding and busy service there will always be opportunities to stretch and develop, the only moderation being the pace you want to set, support from SLT being implicit.
If the advert interests you please take some time to read the attached JD/Person Spec and structure chart, for a detailed view of what kind of technician we are looking for.
Interested and considering applying? We would encourage you to get in touch with us to arrange an informal discussion and/or visit.
Please be advised there is a provisional interview date of 15th November 2024.
