Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced nurse to work at a ward-based level, on Ward 10, (Elective Surgery) as a band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse .

Ward 10 is a 25 bedded ward, consisting of elective surgical patients who are both pre and post-operative. Candidates will require a broad knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care to the appropriate level, treating both inpatients and day surgery

The candidate must have good problem-solving abilities, to be able to work as part of the team and work autonomously with your practice.

The candidate will have advanced communication skills and an ability to demonstrate effective leadership qualities to deliver high standards of nursing care.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must have strong leadership skills as they would be expected to manage staff, provide education and problem solve in ward situations. The successful candidate will also need to be able to demonstrate leadership skills in the absence of the Ward Manager.

Ward 10 has a reputation for the highest standards of clinical care.

We are looking for a suitably experienced nurse who is passionate about patient safety and the delivery of exceptional quality care to our elective surgical patients.

Roles will include, supervising and supporting junior colleagues, as well as supporting the band 7. Management duties will include Erostering, Appraisals, Audits and Quality Assurance checks, Involvement in HR processes. Co-ordinating ward duties.
